Nestled in the foothills of the Sierra Nevada, above the fog line and below the snow line, Auburn, California draws aviators from around the region. General membership meets monthly on the first Wednesday to hear an entertaining speaker and share some fellowship over a pot-puck dinner. Our top mission is to fund scholarships to fledgling pilots.
Auburn Aviation Association began in 1984 as a small group of pilots and airport enthusiasts dedicated to aviation safety, friendship, and community involvement. The years since then have been a tribute to their foresight and dedication to this cause. From a small group to more than one hundred members, they represent a large cross-section of the aviation community from all over the country and have helped to make this airport one of the most popular in northern California. As a non-profit organization, this group has been able to promote the next generation of aviators through its two aviation scholarship funds and has worked with the City of Auburn to make the airport self-sufficient.
